Superintendent/CEO Wesley Mission (Served maximum terms, retired 2020)

Dr Keith Garner is known for his strong sense of social justice and compassion. Since his appointment as Superintendent/CEO of Wesley Mission in 2006 he has built a strong reputation as a public advocate on issues such as homelessness, financial stress and the care of the mentally ill and vulnerable.

Keith currently serves as the Deputy Co-Chair of the NSW Premier’s Council on Homelessness, is a founding director of the Community Council for Australia which represents the not for profit sector, a Board Member of Harold Cottee Orchard in South Australia , and member of Sydney Business Chamber.

Dr Garner had more than 25 years ministry experience including the leadership of some of Britain’s largest Methodist churches encompassing their community services and serving on the highest councils and boards. He brings with him a vision for the Christian church agencies and is best known as an inspiring and gifted preacher.

He completed his Master of Theology at Oxford University in 1995 and was given an Honorary Doctorate by the Evangelical Bible Institute in Yangon for his work throughout the world in supporting poorer communities.
