Some governments seek to undermine their own role; they deliberately reduce confidence and trust in the government. As the US has shown us, this is very damaging. We need to respond, writes CEO David Crosbie in Pro Bono News, 6 April 2022.

Charities gain few supporters by acting as passive recipients waiting patiently at the door to be let into rooms where the big decisions are already made, writes CCA CEO David Crosbie. An election lead-up is one of those times when we need to put aside reservations, and bravely advocate for our charitable purpose, and solutions to make Australia a better place. What makes the floods in NSW and QLD even more devastating is that governments knew they were coming and did very little to prepare, writes CCA CEO David Crosbie in Pro Bono News, who argues it is time charities and community groups were placed at the centre of resilience and recovery. 

As you frame policies to promote a more open, safe and productive community, charities and not-for-profits want to be part of the solution, part of rebuilding our communities and boosting our economy.  We hope you will continue to acknowledge our role and support us in our work to strengthen Australian communities through this pandemic and into the future.
